Advantage: High temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and good electrical conductivity
SPECIFICATIONS
Based on the scope of application, graphite paper can be classified into flexible graphite paper, low carbon graphite paper, sealing graphite paper, high purity graphite paper and so on. Graphite paper is made from high carbon flake graphite by chemical treatment and high temperature expansion rolling. It is the basic material for making various graphite packing. Graphite paper is an entirely new heat conduction and heat dissipation material. It is a high crystallinity lamellar material made by advanced formation technology and chemical method in a high temperature environment. Its chemical composition is mainly a single carbon (C) element, which is a kind of mineral of natural element. Carbon is a nonmetallic element, but it has higher thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity than metal materials. The greatest advantage of graphite thermal conductive paper is that it can conduct heat and dissipate heat along the direction of film surface. Compared with traditional metal materials, its thermal conductivity is 3-5 times that of copper or aluminum. Graphite film has excellent electromagnetic shielding effectiveness. In the range of 10M-10GHz, its shielding effect can reach more than 90dB.
Graphite paper is also called graphite sheet. With its advantages of high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and good electrical conductivity, graphite paper can be applied to petroleum, chemical industry and high temperature equipment or components, and can be made into various graphite strips, packing, sealing gaskets, clad plates, cylinder gaskets, etc.
Graphite is a crystalline form of carbon and a nonmetallic substance. It is mainly silvery gray in color, very soft in texture, and has a metallic luster. Its Mohs' hardness is 1-2, specific gravity is 2.2-2.3, and capacity is usually 1.5-1.8. The melting point of graphite paper is extremely high. In a vacuum environment, the softened graphite tends to melt at 3000℃, and starts to evaporate at 3600℃.
The thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity of graphite paper are quite high. Its electrical conductivity is four times higher than that of stainless steel, two times higher than that of carbon steel and 100 times higher than that of nonmetallic products. Its thermal conductivity is not only greater than that of copper, iron, lead and other metal materials, but also decreases with increasing temperature. Unlike ordinary metal materials, graphite tends to be heat insulating at extremely high temperature. Therefore, the cooling function of graphite paper is very stable and reliable at ultra-high temperature.
Introduction of the properties of high purity graphite paper:
It has excellent heat resistance and cold resistance. Flexible graphite has little change in physical properties from an ultra low temperature of -270℃ to a high temperature of 3650℃ (in a non-oxidizing gas), and can be used in air at up to about 450℃.
It has excellent chemical corrosion resistance. High purity flexible graphite has corrosion resistance to all inorganic and organic media except being corroded in aqua regia, concentrated nitric acid, concentrated sulfuric acid as well as high temperature dichromate, potassium permanganate, ferric chloride and other strong oxidizing media.
It has excellent self-lubrication. Similar to natural graphite, the interlamination of flexible graphite slides easily under external force, so it has lubrication, good anti-wear property and small friction coefficient.
It has a high resilience rate. When the shaft or sleeve shows radial circular run-out due to deviation in fabrication and installation, graphite paper has some resilience so that graphite can fit very well , thus a close fitting is ensured and leakage is avoided.
Expanding graphite gasket does not have a high demand for flange surface, and a small pre-tension can achieve sealing effect. It is cut easily, and is a relatively economical and practical gasket.
